Influenza – referred to as "flu" – is a serious threat to the health and well-being of you and your family. Vaccination is the primary method for preventing flu and its severe complications.* You can get vaccinated at a Concentra Urgent Care location.

If you become exposed to the flu, your physician may also recommend that you begin taking an antiviral medication. This medication doesn’t help prevent the flu, but it helps your body fight the infection so your flu symptoms may be less severe. Recently, the CDC updated its guidelines for use of antiviral medication in treating H1N1 (swine flu). It should be limited to cases with severe or worsening symptoms where hospitalization may be required, and to high-risk groups with medical conditions. Overuse of antiviral medications could lead more quickly to resistant strains of the flu.
* Concentra does not guarantee the quality of the vaccine or any results of the vaccine or that any person inoculated with the vaccine will not get the flu.
