Q: Where can I get my flu shot?
A: Beginning in September, you can walk in and get flu shots on a cash-only basis (currency or personal credit card) at Concentra Medical Centers nationwide. Go to our Location Finder for the address, phone number, and directions to the nearest Concentra Medical Center. For your convenience and to avoid wait times, please call in advance for pricing and any specific hours relative to giving flu shots. You’ll need to present a photo ID (driver’s license or passport).
Q: Will Concentra provide vaccinations for pregnant women?
A: Women who will be pregnant during flu season are considered high risk for complications from flu and should get the vaccine. Concentra will provide inactivated flu vaccinations for pregnant women.
Q: What are the age requirements for providing flu vaccinations?
A: With parental consent, Concentra will provide vaccinations to children ages 9 years and older. In most cases, age 18 is considered an adult, but this distinction varies among states.
Q: How is my flu vaccine administered?
A: Your Concentra representative will inject the vaccination into your upper arm. We recommend that you wear clothing that allows easy access to this area.
Q: Why get vaccinated?
A: Flu is a contagious disease. It spreads from person to person through coughing or sneezing. Flu can lead to pneumonia and can be dangerous for people with heart or breathing conditions. It kills 36,000 people each year in the United States, mostly among the elderly. The current flu vaccine is generally safe and up to 90% effective in preventing the flu.
