Q: Are flu shots available at the Urgent Care locations?
A: Beginning in early October, we offer walk-in flu shots on a cash-only basis (currency or personal credit card). Please call in advance to the nearest center for pricing and any specific hours relative to giving flu shots in that center (to avoid long wait times). You will need to present a photo ID (drivers license or passport). The Location Finder will provide the address, phone number and directions to the nearest center.
Q: Will Concentra provide vaccinations for pregnant women?
A: Women who will be pregnant during influenza season are considered high risk for complications from influenza and should get the vaccine. Concentra will provide Inactivated Influenza vaccinations for pregnant women.
Q: What are the age requirements for providing vaccinations at On-Site clinics and for walk-in customers?
A: With parental consent, Concentra will provide vaccinations to children ages 9 years old and up. In most cases, age 18 is considered an adult; but this distinction varies among states.
Q: How is the vaccine administered?
A: The Concentra representative will inject the vaccination into the upper arm of the patient. We recommend that you wear clothing that allows easy access to this area.
Q: Why get vaccinated?
A: Influenza (flu) is a contagious disease. It spreads from person to person through coughing or sneezing. Influenza can lead to pneumonia and can be dangerous for people with heart or breathing conditions. It kills 36,000 people each year in the United States, mostly among the elderly. Influenza vaccine can prevent influenza.
